FAQ's
Q: Are life jackets and paddles included?
A: Yes! All of our rentals include a paddle and PFD. We have a variety of sizes to fit most paddlers.
Q: What is your cancellation policy?
A: We ask that you let us know at least 24 hours in advance if you need to cancel your reservation. There is no penalty in the case of inclement weather. There is a 50% charge for "no call, no show" cancellations. We often turn away other reservations to hold yours, so it's important to let us know if you have a change in plans.
Q: What should I bring with me when I go kayaking?
A: We recommend that you bring water, sunscreen, and shoes that you don't mind getting wet. Wear comfortable clothing, a hat and sunglasses, and there is room for a small bag if you'd like to bring snacks or small items in your kayak. There is always the possibility of losing items in the water, so bring your phone or other important items at your own risk. We recommend using a dry bag to keep your items together and dry on your excursion.
Q: Is there a weight restriction on kayaks?
A: All kayaks have a recommended maximum weight capacity, but we have kayaks to fit heavier paddlers, as well as shorter or taller paddlers. Please specify in your reservation if you are outside a standard size range. Specifically, we would like to know if you have paddlers over 200 lbs (with their approximate weight), and also paddlers that are especially short or tall. We will do our best to select kayaks to make every paddler comfortable, and this information can be helpful. Call with any questions or concerns.
Q: Where can we take rental kayaks to paddle?
A: There are a variety of rivers in our area, as well as Veto Lake. Many paddlers will put in at the boat ramp on the Muskingum River for a shorter paddle. See our "Local Paddling" page for more details.
